In many areas of our culture, talking about Christianity has been largely shut out. That is not the story within most racing venues. Being asked to provide an invocation for safety over racers following the National Anthem is not at all uncommon. In a sport where racers can be seriously injured, prayer is often welcome!
Beyond that, though, there are often open doors for providing short devotionals, testimonies, and even worship services. Triple Cross Ministries is focused on using those opportunities to give willing participants an avenue through which to consider the gospel for their lives.
Our assistant chaplains, under the oversight of Executive Director and Senior Chaplain, David Price, are equipped to lead any of these ministry opportunities and use the Triple Cross message to clearly communicate the gospel, articulating our need, God’s provision, and our response.
Personal counseling is an aspect of our chaplaincy ministry and provides a way we can help individuals make their way to the gospel as we help them deal with personal struggles and burdens they are carrying. Our assistant chaplains will be available throughout an event to provide a listening ear and prayer ministry to anyone who requests it. In the event of deeper personal struggles, our Sr. Chaplain, trained in biblical pastoral counseling, will be available to provide more in-depth help and to connect them with more specialized counseling in their home area, if the need arises.
Before each event, we will ask for the cities and states of every registered racer (names aren’t necessary). With that information, we will research and contact strong, Bible-believing New Testament churches in each of those cities to include in our Church Locator Database. Should the Lord provide opportunities for us to lead someone to Christ or encourage others in their faith, we can then use our Triple Cross Church Locator app to quickly help them connect to a local church when they return home.
